Weekend Visitors

I almost forgot that I was wanting to do another post. Almost a week later, here it is.

My Mom and Pop came down Sunday night since they didn't have to work on Monday. We were so excited to have them come, and for Pop to meet Winston. They are always entertaining. I think they entertain us, instead of us trying to entertain them. Here's Poppy meeting the newest addition to our family. I love how Pop will just sit and hold the boys!!
So I just had to post these next pictures. My Mom playing Guitar Hero 3!! The guys and boys all went to the store to get stuff for root beer floats. While they were gone Mom started playing. She played song after song and was really into it. Not once did she ask if I wanted a turn! Thanks! Haha! I decided to snap a few pictures of her. She was not to pleased. In this picture she is telling me to stop because I was going to make her miss a note...which she did.
She was not pleased when I told her I would most definitely be blogging these pictures. She doesn't want the evidence I guess. This picture cracked me up, she is really into this stuff. Every time I look at this picture, I just start laughing. You have to click on it to get the full effect!! I love you Mom!!! Your the best Mom ever!! Now she might ground me for posting these!!
Poppy spoiled the boys and got them an ice cream cone. Quinn loves chocolate as you can see. He was covered in his ice cream.
Malcolm took the creative way to eating his cone. He bite off the top of the cherry dip and "drank" all his ice cream. He kept telling us he was drinking it, and didn't know what he meant until he really bite into it. Notice how there's nothing left inside. Funny kid!
Finally on Monday Winston's umbilical cord fell off, so he had his first real bath. He hated the sponge baths and would just cry. I would let him dangle his feet in the warm water and then he would always stop crying, so I was anxious for him to have a real bath. He loved it and was content until I pulled him out.
On Tuesday Quinn woke up around 4:30-5 am coughing. Shortly after he came out of his room a few times. I don't think he ever went back to sleep, so he was tired to say the least. Before we could put him into bed for his nap, he fell asleep like this. So funny!! The sad thing is I was really tired, and wanted a nap. Winston's stomach hurt and he didn't sleep to great that night. Well Quinn's diaper was dirty, so I had to change it. After that he didn't fall back asleep! I had to doze on the couch instead...ugh!

Winston's Photo Shoot

So I finally took some pictures of Winston. While Matt and the boys were at church, I took advantage of the peace and quiet. Although it would have helped to have Matt here, we could have done some other fun stuff. Winston wasn't really cooperative. He slept through most of them, until I tried taking off his diaper, then he was wide awake. I didn't get a lot of "great shots", but I still love every picture since it's my sweet baby! Here's some of the pictures I got. I took WAY to many!

In this one he was mad at me and wouldn't settle down for a picture at all. I think it's too funny how he's all kicking his legs out and such. He wouldn't stay the way I would lay him.
The skinny, wrinkled skin...I'm sure he'll fill out soon enough.

This picture cracks me up with the way he's holding his lips.

He has such long skinny legs. Plus his feet are big, and his hands.
I wore him out pretty good. He's such a big boy sleeping in his crib.

Valentine's Fun and Updates

On Tuesday we were lucky to have Matt's mom come down and stay for a few days. We really enjoyed having her here, we always love having company. She's so sweet and brought us Valentine's presents. The boys got some really cute books, and she got me the Martha Stewart's Baking Handbook. As for Matt, he gets to enjoy my baking! I absolutely love to bake for some reason. I especially love to bake stuff for people. I can't wait to try out many of the yummy recipes.

On Wednesday, Malcolm's class had a "Friendship Party" to celebrate Valentine's Day. I'm glad Cynthia was here to go, and Matt had a few hours break from school. I really wasn't willing to take Winston around a million little kids, so I wasn't able to be there. Quinn was also so excited to go to the party, even though he missed his nap. Here he is watching a movie, just waiting until it was time to go.

Apparently it was a good movie they were watching. Malcolm sure seemed to be enjoying it.

I guess the party was pretty fun...at least for the kids. They had "stations" to do some different stuff. Malcolm and Quinn mostly just wanted to play in "housekeeping". Eventually they were convinced to decorate a heart envelope to hold all the Valentine's cards. I don't know all the details since I wasn't there. Here's Malcolm and Georgey hanging out playing with the cash register.Malcolm's favorite place to play at school is in "housekeeping". He loves dressing up...here he's sporting the chef outfit!
Quinn loving his cookie. This kid is addicted to chocolate!! Just like his mom.
The gang all dressed up. They are all so cute.
We didn't do much for Valentine's Day. Matt and the boys bought me red roses and a HUGE balloon that you can record a message on. Little did he know when Quinn picked it out it was $15. He regretted that buy. Also the next day Matt brought home New York Style Cheesecake!! Yummy! I love that stuff. For the boys I decided to do just a little something to celebrate it. They love coloring, using stickers, etc, so I bought them each a packet of stickers, and watercolor paints. They loved it and wanted to paint right away.
Malcolm loving his stickers. Kids can never get enough of stickers!
Quinn hard at work with his painting. He's just like his dad...when he's working hard, he sticks out his tongue.
I'm happy to report that Winston is now sleeping in his crib/bassinet instead of his car seat. I know I'm weird...I hate building bad habits. I love babies all swaddled. My little burrito baby!
So I just had to post a picture of my awesome sling Mom bought me. My sister Leisha introduced me to this sling called Peanut Shell. She bought one for her daughter and loved it. I'm so glad she shared, because I love it too. I've never had any type of carrier pack for my kids. This sling is awesome too, because it doesn't have any straps or buckles, you buy a "size" that fits you. There's also 5 different ways to hold the baby/toddler in it. I really wanted something that I could use so I could go walking with him and still push the boys in the double jogger. Well it works great, he's totally loves it and sleeps the whole time I'm walking...although that's pretty typical of a newborn!

One Week Old

One week already, I can't believe it! I'm already sad that he has to grow at all. I wish he could stay this size forever!! I love the newborn stage. Even if it means I'm sleep deprived.

Winston is a great baby so far. The first nights home were a little rough. While in a hospital I had an omelet with major onion in it, then came home and had a sandwich with horseradish mustard. I don't think he liked it too much. I just wasn't even thinking. Also while I was in labor I had a ton of cookies with chocolate in it...I don't know if he got that too. He didn't necessarily do a whole lot of crying...he just wanted to be held. My mom pretty much held him most of the first night. The second night wasn't quite so bad, but he slept by me most of the night. That means I don't sleep and I'm stressed by him sleeping by me. We finally figured out that he likes to sleep in his car seat. I hate building these types of habits, because then you have to break them. Oh well, at least we are all sleeping better. Winston really only cries when he's hungry. We have a pretty good schedule going on of eating every 3 hours. He knows when it's time to eat. He seems to like to fall asleep sucking on something. If he's really awake, he has to have his binkie to fall asleep, he just can't seem to settle down without it.

I haven't barely taken any pictures since being home. I totally regret it. I only have a few pictures of Mom with him. I realized I haven't even taken a picture with all the boys together, or a family picture. What's up with that!?! I'll have to do that this week, at least of the boys. Yesterday I finally took some pictures of little Winston. He's so adorable. We absolutely love this little guy!!
Gramimi bought him this cute little outfit. He's our little monkey with his hair all sticking out. His hair doesn't stay down after a bath. When I started taking these pictures, he started out by sleeping...
but then he decided to be awake. Sweet boy!
Then of course he starts going for his hands, even though he just got done eating!
Why is it so stinking cute when a baby yawns.
I'm in love with this little face! I just can't get enough of it.
After his next nap I took a few more pictures, this time he slept through it all. He didn't care what I did with him.
Malcolm was really wanting to be in a picture with him. He couldn't stay away.
When I was done, Malcolm wanted to take some pictures of Winston and I, so I actually let him. He even started telling me where to lay and such. A true photographer at heart!
Then Malcolm wanted to take a picture just of Winston. He takes some really good pictures!
He then wanted his picture with Winston, silly kid!
We've had a great first week with this new little member of our family. My Mom was able to stay and take care of us this whole week. I've never had any help after a baby, and it was really nice to know that my house, and children were being taken care of. Mom did everything, all I had to worry about was Winston. She left on Saturday. I didn't want her to leave. We cried together, then after she left I cried some more. I'm not scared to do it on my own, I just really enjoyed having her here all the time. I love my Mom, she's a wonderful, caring mother. I miss her a ton, even though she's only 2 hours away. This morning when Quinn woke up, he went straight to the room my Mom stayed in. He must be missing her too! Thank you so much for all you did for us Mom. I enjoyed having you here and can't wait until Pop wants to come for some Cougar Chunky...or to see us!

Coming Home

I have wanted to post all week...but I just haven't taken the time to do so.

At our awesome hospital we were able to have a dinner for "two". We were able to choose between that, a birthday cake or a fruit basket to take home. We decided to have the dinner. We both had steak...but unfortunately it was not very good. But the rest of it was great. I had the best dessert ever...cheesecake!! During our dinner the nurses offered to take Winston......but this is what he was doing the whole time, so we said he could stay with us. Right as we finished he woke up.
I was released from the hospital on Monday. Matt had a 10am class, so we came home at 9am. It was either that or wait until he was out of class at 4pm. The nurses made this little bracelet during the middle of the night. I thought it was so sweet.
Here he is after first being put in his carseat. He ended up liking it and not making a peep after this. The little hat was given to us from the hospital too. It's too cute, a total winter hat. Plus it was a better fit for him then the one I had brought. So if you remember the ultrasound pictures, Winston was sucking his thumb. Ever since he was born, he's always had his hands by his face. On the second day we were home he found it. I couldn't believe it, my other boys never found it for months. He was only 3 days old! He finds it several times a day. He totally has a major sucking reflex. I had to go out and buy binkies for him. Isn't it just the cutest thing ever!!!
The boys love and adore their new little brother. They are always talking to him and wanting to hold him. Although they both forget his name. Quinn keeps saying it's Samuel (that's the other name we were thinking about), Malcolm has finally remembered it now. I still have to remind Quinn. These pictures are such sweet pictures of the love these boys have for their brother. Way too cute!!
Quinn loves to touch his hair. Whenever he sees a little baby, that's what he wants to do.
I will do another post tomorrow with updated one week pictures.
