Sunsets

We have beautiful sunset here. I have a great place to take pictures of them, right from my deck. The problem is that the sun is going down so early and so fast, that when I see how pretty it is, get out my camera and tripod, I nearly miss it. Like this first one, it looked so much cooler like 3 minutes before, but it went down faster then I could get set up.
This one just a few days later, I caught more of. I actually have pictures showing how it's ascending. I also love in this one, that you can see a guy on his jet ski in the very right side of the picture! I love sunsets!

Quinn's Color Days

At Quinn's school they had some color days. They had about eight days where it was a different color each day and they could wear as much of that color to school. I wanted to get a picture for each of the days, but only succeeded in getting the first three. After that, it was too hectic when it was time to get to school.

The first day was red. This was the best day he dressed up, because we actually had a lot of red. He looks so cute in his soccer clothes.
The next day was orange, although this orange is more of a red orange and in the pictures looks really close to the first day.
Then the last day of the first week was yellow. He'd also gotten a haircut that day, so he was looking extra sharp.
The other color days were blue, green, black or brown, pink or purple (which we didn't have), and their favorite color. It was fun picking out what he should wear each day. What a fun class he's able to be in!

Grandma's Garden

At the beginning of the summer, Cynthia let the boys pick out something to plant in the garden. Malcolm picked watermelon and cucumbers, which I was not surprised about. They were pretty little watermelons, but they didn't taste as good as I remember Grandpa Bushman's tasting.

It's a little difficult with all the vines connected to it, it didn't come that far off the ground. He was trying really hard to hold that big thing, look at the camera and smile.

Quinn wanted to plant flowers and carrots. He was so anxious to plant them, that when Cynthia said they could go out, he ran out really fast and just dumped them both in one spot! His flowers looked beautiful all colorful and bunched together. The carrots on the other hand, had a hard time growing with the flowers. You can see a few just in front of the flowers that survived.
Surprisingly, he wasn't the one being goofy for the camera. Love these flowers. We'll have to plant some for our self next time.

MIA

I've been MIA for a while now. I don't want to be, I've just had a lot on my plate, and it just keeps getting more full. (Story of my life, I can't ever stop eating even when I'm full!) I have lots to blog about, so I'm just going to back post. I have to get it all down, even though I've forgotten half the stuff already. I gotta get it done this week, before next week when life will get a little more crazy. I have lots to fill you in on!! Hopefully you can keep up!

Quinn Starts Preschool

On September 8th was Quinn's first day of preschool. He was beyond excited. He thought he was one big kid. Although he was a little worried to go without me staying. But he did great and has done great ever since. He's in a English/Spanish combo class and has a great teacher Korbi! She's a fun one, and I know he's going to love her. He goes Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for 2 1/2 hours. It works out great. I take Malcolm to school, then take Quinn to school. Come home for a few hours while Winston naps, wake him up, then off to pick the boys back up. That's a little tricky since they both get out at the same time. So we get to Malcolm's school really early so we can pick him up right when he comes out and then zip over to Quinn's school, a little late. But I trust Quinn's school a lot, since I know the girls that work there, so I'd rather him be waiting then Malcolm.

The school he goes to is also the gymnastics gym. So for playtime, they get to play on all the gymnastic stuff. What kid wouldn't love that! So when he first gets there, he gets to play for a little while until class begins.

Partying with Dane

My nephew Dane turned six and started kindergarten all on the same day. What a lucky boy, and a busy day. We had a little family pirate party at Mom's for him that night. Mom made this awesome pirate Lego cake for him. It turned out so cute, she always does a great job.

On Saturday, Dane had a friends party at the Aquatic Center. It was a pretty mild day, so I didn't even have to get in the water to cool off. We had a fun time for our last time at the Aquatic Center, and I actually took some pictures, but only of the kids playing in the sand.

I just had to add these last pictures of Quinn, Dane and Malcolm. They are some silly boys together. There is nothing like being good friends with you cousins! I love Dane in this picture.

First Day of Kindergarten

I can't believe my baby is starting Kindergarten. You'd think that since I could have put him in last year, that I would have been more then ready this year, but I wasn't. I don't want to let my baby grow up!

September 3rd was Malcolm's first big day of Kindergarten. His class had a slow start, so the girls went in on Wednesday, and only the boys on Thursday. He was placed in the half day PM class. I was really sad about that at first, since he has a really good friend in the AM class. I think it's going to end up being better. At least I'm not fighting getting a tired boy off to school! There's also another boy from our ward in his class, so that is very comforting to me.

We decided to copy my sister-in-laws tradition and do letter chocolate chip pancakes for the first day of school. Even though we don't have morning school, the boys really wanted them for lunch.
Even though Quinn wasn't starting preschool this day, he deserved a pancake as well. We even made a mini one for Winston.
Malcolm in his new shirt he picked out to wear for the first day of school. He's such a big handsome boy! I can't believe I'm starting this phase of my life, having school aged kids. I'm really not ready for it!

Malcolm with his teacher Mrs. Fuller. I already like her and had a great feeling from her. For the first day, the parents stayed for the first hour and she talked with us, filled us in on her teaching style, and so on. I'm really impressed by her and I'm so excited Malcolm has her for his teacher.
I'm so excited for Malcolm. I know he's going to have a great year and do so well. He's such a smart kid. I can't wait to see all the new things he's going to learn!
